Best chair on the plant :-) I have two of them now
During setup, the adjustable bar of the head support dropped quickly (because it requires strength to adjust from the back) and trapped my index finger against the top plastic frame of the shoulder support, causing inflammation and internal injury.
Lumbar support is too loose; whenever my lumbar spine rests on it, it would drop down to my pelvis and I would have to lift it up with my hands and it would drop down again when I rest my lumbar spine on it.
The alternating strands of fabric and mesh can cause friction injury to leg skin whenever the leg brushes against the chair.
After using the chair for 15 days, I don't find it comfortable and cannot sit on it for long periods.
I purchased this chair directly through Ergotune. What stood out was the mesh backing and the sheer number of adjustments.
Despite it having 15 adjustments, it's surprisingly intuitive to use and the chair really does adjust to your body and the way you sit.
The chair comes packaged with two sets of instructions, which guide you through installing both the chair and the leg rest (if you bought it), respectively. Mine was missing the screws needed to install the seat pan to the base but customer service sent out a replacement after a small bit of haggling on my part. The important thing is they assured me the 21 day trial period wouldn't begin until the replacement screws arrived.
In my case, I only needed approx. a week to decide as I found the chair comfortable and easy to adjust. Most importantly, it won't run hot during the summer.
The few minor nitpicks I have are:
- The armrests lack a width adjustment. I knew about this going in, but it's a little more awkward than I anticipated. Certain adjustments mean you'll have less elbow support, which I need. If the armrests had a true width adjustment this wouldn't be an issue. Not a dealbreaker by any means but it did make the adjustment period take longer.
- Armrests aren't as soft as I was hoping. Again, not a dealbreaker. They're not too hard and they are comfortable but on a scale of 1-10 (10 being like a brick), I'd put it at a 5. This does feel odd considering how well other parts of the chair adjusted to my frame.
- The lumbar support is on the firmer side. While it does offer two support levels, both are fairly firm and took a while to adjust to.
I was initially reluctant to spend money on a chair before testing, but I think I made the right decision overall.
Didn’t believe in ergonomic chairs in past. 2 weeks in. It works I guess. Feeling more mobile and back and core feels good even after a long day.
